Technical Information: Moon goes past Raahu every 27/28 days as it goes past 12 signs in 28+ days. Sun goes past Ketu once a year. When Moon is going past Raahu (north node) and at the same time the Sun is close to Ketu then it becomes the “total eclipse” which has very significant importance in Astrology. Closer the Moon to Rahu and Sun to Ketu – more importance to this. You can see the “ring” etc when this happens.

Today JAN 30^th from 14:59 pm (almost 3 pm IST) Moon enters KIRK (Cancer) Sign. Sun is in Makar rashi 16:20 degree and Ketu is in 20L49 degrees It starts this period of 2+ days of this “Grehen” or eclipse like situation. It is lot more close and total eclipse on JAN 31^st 2018 at Pune 10pm to Midnight IST (Indian time). At Midnight 12:15 AM or 00:15AM hours on Feb 1^st Moon is exactly close to Rahu in the same degree. And Surya is 17:45 and Ketu is 20:49. (Real nodes). So astrologically this Grehen gets over say 12:20AM midnight Feb 1^st but add 1 hours to that as Moon so close to Rahu. Moon leaves KIRK rashi 15:05PM (India) Feb 1^st and technically ends this Moon movement around Rahu. Sun goes close to Ketu same degree on Feb 3 and Feb 4.

So the period is from India 3pm Jan30th 2018 (Tuesday) to Feb 1^st 3pm India. And within that the ACTUAL eclipse is India 10pm Jan31st to say 1AM Feb 1^st.

EFFECTS:

There are two effects to be considered. One is transit and the other is birth around these times and even in those 2 days when the Moon is in the same sign as Rahu.

(1)    The birth around exactly this time needs very careful analysis and does show some mental health phobia and also some physical health issues. Shani in MOOLA increased impact as it owns Surya Ketu rashi. So births in these 2 days would need careful analysis of paternal and maternal family history. More so maternal as Chandra in own rashi and Surya in Shani rashi and Shani in Moola. So it would mean that maternal family has some bad events that might have happened in the family.

a.     Those born with combination of Lagna/Ascendant & Moon of Mithun Kumbh or Singh /Dhanu are more affected with the intensity of the events.

(2)    For Transit – The Moon and Ascendant Signs of (Mithun) GEMINII and Aquarius (Kumbh) are the most impacted followed by DHANU/Sagittarius and LEO/Singh. (4 signs) Giving/lending someone money – don’t expect it to come back for these two signs. Give only as much as you don’t care to lose! :) As giving money could be your duty and dharma and not to be avoided if supposedly good cause or some accident or some needy person etc. These two moon signs & ascendant are the most impacted and also SINGH LEO moon sign and Ascendant is impacted for some unnecessary expense and also physical peeda and fatigue but more so HEALTH – upset stomach – eat limited stuff and eat at known places and without hysteria or any competition or rivalry etc. Virgo/Kanya and Pisces/MEEN Signs might gain due to some events around. Libra is affected somewhat but not personally but “party” to some bad events – watch mom and dad. Scorpio / Vrishchik – avoid travel is possible and travel – be careful with driving and avoid 31^st midnight and Feb1st morning travel (India times). Their siblings might need help, Makar / Capricorn moon sign would need to perform duty and personal efforts to help others and keep things on track. Expense of efforts and money is seen to keep things going. KIRK/Cancer will see some emotional atyachaar or drama for a day or two, keeping emotion in check helps. DHANU would gain in some aspects but physical fatigue is seen and some inheritance related activity/tussle is possible.

In 2010 (or was it 2009?) this was in the day time – had a Nokia E63 that time! :) Remembered taking photo with it. It was in MITHUN rashi – in my 8^th house to both Lagna and Chandra-Rashi. So I knew I needed to be careful. I got a call from one more fellow Vrishchik rashi guy! Me with Chandra Rahu and he with Chandra Ketu! He said this guy lets call him PD will come to you and he is in dire need for money as his mom’s operation is supposed to happen etc etc. He had already given him some amount and if I could also help. NOW – I KNEW EXACTLY this was not the right reason and not the right person! :) But, the reason given was very emotional and EXACTLY 5/10 mins before this Grehen I withdrew money from ATM in the basement – gave to this guy and rushed out to see the grehen. This money, needless to say never came back. :)
